About
face perception; autism; Williams syndrome; gaze; expressions of emotion; child development
I am interested in the socio-cognitive abilities of individuals with the neuro-developmental disorders Williams syndrome (WS) and Autism.
I have used behavioural tasks to explore face perception abilities across these populations and in contrast to the skills of individuals who are developing typically. I have also used eye tracking technology to explore the way that individuals with these neuro-developmental disorders attend to social stimuli that include faces (e.g. scenes containing people and short movie clips).
I collaborate with Prof. Gwyneth Doherty-Sneddon (Northumbria University), Prof. Peter Hancock (Stirling University), Dr. Elisa Back (Kingston University), Dr. Sinead Rhodes (Strathclyde University) and Prof. Kim Cornish (Monash University). As well as these external collaborations I work with Prof. Vicki Bruce and Dr. Jacqui Rodgers from Newcastle University.
