About
I am a third year PhD candidate hailing from the Chicago area in the United States. My research at ICCHS deals with on-site interpretation at historic battlefields and how this contributes to understanding the perceived value of battlefield heritage, including sense of authentic place and conceptualising ideas on memory and identity.
My Master of Arts degree in World Heritage Studies was completed at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus, Germany in 2008. I was awarded a Leonardo da Vinci Scholarship in 2007 to conduct field work at Skellig Michael WHS in County Kerry, Ireland. I received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in French with a Minor in History in 2004. I have worked in museums and heritage organisations periodically for the past ten years.
