I conduct research to understand what works best to improve the health of populations and reduce inequalities in health betweeen individuals and between populations.  I also work to ensure that cost-effective interventions find their way into mainstream policy and practice. 

I am director of the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health, a UKCRC public health research: centre of excellence.
